The GWM WEY 05 is a plug-in hybrid like no other. Its 39.67 kWh battery capacity can bring you up to 146 km¹ fully electric. And with one pedal drive for recuperation, 3 EV driving modes, and AC charging with 11 kW power and DC charging with 50 kW power, it can run purely electric for most everyday driving.

Drive between worlds.
The GWM WEY 05 has a combustion engine and two electric motors: One is in the front and connected to the combustion engine drivetrain via the clutch. The rear electric motor is located on the rear axle and provides power directly to the rear wheels. This configuration allows for all-wheel drive capability as well as regenerative braking and electric-only driving modes. The 9-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox uses two clutches to provide seamless gear shifts.

The blind spot warning function utilizes sensors to detect vehicles in the blind spot, promptly displaying a warning sign, and thereby reducing the risk of accidents when changing lanes.
When the vehicle speed exceeds 30 km/h, the system alerts the driver with alarms if it detects a potential collision with a pedestrian or vehicle. It has two alarm levels: an advance warning sound and emergency brake alarms. If the driver doesn't respond, the system takes control, applying emergency brakes. The vehicle's indicators flash rapidly to warn others, and there's also brake assist.
When the vehicle reaches a speed below 30 km/h and comes to a stop without the engine being restarted, it can automatically reverse for up to 50 meters. This feature proves to be extremely useful when turning around is not an option, and you need to maneuver out of a narrow street or a congested parking lot.

The stated AC and DC charging times have been calculated based on charging under the average temperature of +/-25°C.
