ABOUT GREAT WALL MOTOR

“Making perfection more perfect” – this is the guiding motto of the international automaker Great Wall Motor.

With the European premieres of its GWM WEY and GWM ORA product lines, GWM brings a new generation of mobility to Europe.

In China, GWM dominates the market for premium SUVs. Under the leadership of Mr. Jack Wey, the company has already established itself as one of the first Chinese automakers to sell vehicles outside of China. The carmaker, founded in 1984, is one of the most innovative companies in China today. GWM presents its customers with both traditional and electric-powered vehicles across four major product categories: SUVs, 4x4s, passenger cars, and pickups.

The group owns a total of six automotive brands, out of which GWM WEY and GWM ORA will be marketed as separate product lines under the GWM umbrella brand in Europe.  For the past 11 years, GWM has been the best-selling SUV brand in China, and for the past 23 years, it has been the best-selling pickup brand.

GWM is a leading designer of intelligent networks and a pioneer in researching and developing cutting-edge technologies like 5G, Autopilot, and V2X. Additionally, GWM invests heavily in innovative solutions related to three crucial electric vehicle components: Batteries, engines, and electric power control units. These components contain critical technologies for New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), a term that includes pure battery electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, as well as fuel cell vehicles.

Spotlight Automotive, GWM’s joint venture with BMW, drives the development and production of battery electric vehicles. GWM also has strategic partnerships with Continental, Bosch, Webasto, BorgWarner, ZF, and Hella.

In 2022, GWM sold 1,07 million units globally.
